Irene Grizzle

WINDER – Irene Thomas Grizzle, 84, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Winder Health Care in Winder, following an extended illness.

Born on August 25, 1925, in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Bighum and Isebelle Pilgrim Kidd. She retired from Piedmont Laboratories and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Grizzle was preceded in death by her husband, Dello Grizzle; and a son, Paul L. Thomas.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda S. Wilson, Winder; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Barbara Ann Thomas, Oakwood, Danny and Leslie Thomas, Gainesville, and Gary and Brenda Thomas, Winder; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Drewery Loggins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements.
