AUBURN – Joy Christian, 69, died Monday, June 8, 2009.
Born in Murphy, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Blanco N. and Wenona E. Scruggs Bryson. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindy Christian.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Mary Maddox, Auburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Larry Lewis, Oxford, and Susan and Paul Moore, Winder; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Wallace Bryson, Winterville, and Billy Bryson, Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Joan Wilson, Winder, and Beverly Boyd, Braselton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, at 2 p.m., in Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Auburn City Cemetery. Wednesday, June 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
