DANIELSVILLE – Joan H. Cook, 84, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Bradenton, Fla., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Lottie Fant Harris. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, William Milton Cook; a son, Robert “Bob” Carter; and brothers, James and Bill Harris. Moving to Athens in 1954, she became the District Manager for Avon and may be better known for working at the information desk at the Georgia Square Mall when it first opened.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Kelley, Houston, Texas, Bill “L.G.” Kelley, Comer; daughter and son-in-law, Beth Kelley and Peter Zorbanos, Danielsville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter or the Madison County Food Bank.
