SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Antonio “Tony” Damon Stephens, 37, formerly of Gainesville, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at UCSD Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Hall County on October 6, 1971, he was the son of Roger and Shirley Stephens, Alto. He had lived in California for the past 15 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his twin sisters, Sonya Stephens, Minneapolis, Minn., and Tonya Banks, Flowery Branch; nephews, Tavious Banks, Flowery Branch, and Jeremy Stephens, Minneapolis, Minn.; maternal grandmother, Ruby Browner, Gainesville; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Roger Stephens and Adrian Niles officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, June 5. Prior to the visitation at the funeral home, the family will receive friends at the home of his parents, 8068 Mud Creek Road, Alto, Ga., 30510.
