CORNELIA – Bobbie Wright, 75, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on November 5, 1933, she was the daughter of Vinnie Hicks Popham of Baldwin and the late Arvil Popham. She managed Clarkesville Cleaners for 27 years, and was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church, where she attended the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and taught the children’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and her beloved dog, Holly. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce White.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband of 53 years, Howard Wright, Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bruce Standridge, Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pam Wright, Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Carol Popham, Clarkesville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, at 11 a.m., at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Brian James and Terry Rice officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
