COMER – George Thomas Pittard, 79, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Cobb Health Care Center in Comer.
Born in Oglethorpe County, on April 2, 1930, he was the son of the late Walt and Clara King Pittard. He was a mechanic in the automotive industry and was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Nell Bridges Pittard, Comer; brother, J.W. Pittard, Comer; sister, Farrie Booth, Kannapolis, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and Talmadge Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel M. Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 2, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
