GAINESVILLE – Effie Mae Sullens, 69, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born on December 22, 1939, in Banks County, she lived in Gainesville most of her life, and worked at Pirkle’s Café as a cook for many years. Mrs. Sullens was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lucille Baker.
Survivors include sons, Ron Sullens, Clarkesville, and Harold Sullens, Gainesville; a brother, J.C. Smith, Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Gallagher officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
