David Ellington

STATHAM - David Milton Ellington, 68, died Saturday, May 23, 2009.

Born in DeKalb County, he was the son of the late Parks B. and Lillian McDowell Ellington. He served in the United States Army and had been employed by the DeKalb school bus system.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Born, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Berk Patten, Winston; step daughter, Denise Frier; grandchildren, Daniell and Kristen Richardson and Brandon and Jonathon Born; great-grandson, Bradley Trey Sticher; brother, Dan Ellington, Statham; and a sister, Shirley Olsen, Lawrenceville.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 27, at 2 p.m., from Smith Memory Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Pinson officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
