SUGAR HILL – Rickey Lynn Carder, 53, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Northside Hospital of Forsyth following a sudden illness.
Born in Jackson County on August 6, 1955, he was the son of Willie Fay Carder and Bessie Lou Turner. He was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Pentecostal denomination.
Mr. Carder was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Rev. Herbert and Mae Turner and William and Rachel Carder, and his daughter, Tina Michelle Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Carder, Sugar Hill; sons, Jason Carder, Alto, and Shane Carder, Toccoa; four daughters, Amber Kamler and Katheryn Cronemiller, both of Gainesville, and Rachel Hogan and Janet Martin, both of Sugar Hill; mother and step father, Bessie and Bill Wilkie, Cleveland; father, Fay Carder, Gainesville; two sisters, Martha Murphy Ballance, Cleveland, and Diane Smallwood, St. Augustine, Fla.; two brothers, Jerry Carder, Gainesville, and David Carder, Cleveland; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 22, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grizzle officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
