Doris Carrington

MILLEDGEVILLE – Doris Nell Jones Carrington, 82, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

She was a native of Statham, but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a retired executive secretary with Concord Fabrics, did volunteer work for Oconee Regional Medical Center and was a member and longtime volunteer of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carrington was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Carrington.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Carrington, Pawleys Island, S.C., Mike Carrington, Thomson; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Alex Harrison, Newnan; grandchildren, Amanda and Tim Hendricks, Richmond Hill, Katie and Greg Joyner, Roswell, Jac and Bett Carrington, Columbia, S.C., Taylor Carrington and Anna Carrington, both of Thomson; and great-grandchildren, Cole and Jack Hendricks, Richmond Hill.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 22, at the First United Methodist Church with Jay Hodges officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder.
