ROYSTON – Carl Adolph Peterson, 89, died Sunday, May 17, 2009.
Born in Pensacola, Fla., on March 5, 1920, he was the son of the late Lars Adolph and Helny Petterson Pettersson. He was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church in Miami, Fla., was a jet engine overhaul supervisor, having retired from Eastern Airlines, and was a United States Navy Veteran, having served as a chief petty officer during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Anderson Peterson, Royston; son, Neil Peterson, Miami, Fla.; daughters, Reah Peterson Black, Royston, and Christal Peterson Figueredo, Miami, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 21, at the Royston First United Methodist church with the Revs. Mac Enfinger and Todd Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Black Family Cemetery.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
