Announcing the death of Beverly A. Whelchel “Peewee” Rucker, 49.
She was born on April 13, 1959, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. M.L. (Mamie) Whelchel. Mrs. Rucker was preceded in death by two sisters.
Survivors include sons, Cameron Rucker, Union City, and Cedric Rucker, Marietta; the father of her sons, Walter J. Rucker; brothers, John McArthur Whelchel, Baltimore, Md., Willie M.L. Whelchel Jr., Marvin “Bud” Whelchel, Marcus Whelchel, Eric Watson, all of Gainesville, and Terrance Watson, Athens; sisters, Deborah Whelchel, Dorothy Whelchel, both of Gainesville, the Rev. Montine Smith, Austell, Lynn Watson, Knoxville, Tenn., and Trudy Gaither, Oakwood; four grandchildren; six aunts; one uncle; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, loved ones and acquaintances.
A homecoming celebration was held Saturday, June 21, at St. John Baptist Church, 741 E.E. Butler Pkwy., Gainesville, with the Rev. Stephen Samuel officiating and the Rev. Eugene Green presenting the Eulogy.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
