Paul James, of Clarkesville, died peacefully at Gateway Health in Cleveland, surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was a native of Clarkesville and was retired from Habersham Mill, where he worked in the carding department. Mr. James was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse Harold James, Fred James, Bill James, Edwin James and John James. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 53 loving years, Martha Nell Chambers James, Clarkesville; a son, Charles Newton James, Clarkesville; sisters, Grace Grogan, Braselton, and Pat Patterson, Gillsville; niece, Helen Seabolt, Clarkesville; and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 20, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Charles Morrison and Marvin Beasley officiating Burial was at Alley’s Chapel.
Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville, was in charge of arrangements.
