PORT ORANGE, FLA. – Richard Nathan Stone Sr., 88, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Anna Stone and had lived in Talmo from 1975 until August 2007. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Corp and the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He also worked for N.A.S.A. for many years, as a test engineer. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Nelle Stone in 1955.
Survivors include daughters, Pamela Finzel, Patricia Ramirez; son, Richard Stone; and a grandson, Craig Finzel.
A reception for friends and family will be held Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Candler Methodist Church, Candler Hwy. 60, Candler Community, in Hall County. Following the memorial service, there will be a graveside service at Talmo Baptist Cemetery.
