GRIFFIN - Rev. Ernest P. "E.P." Pruett, 88, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Brightmoor Nursing Home.
Born on October 3, 1920, in Red Level, Ala., he was the son of the late William Edward and Dona Mae Gilmore Pruett. He was the former Pastor of Griffin First Assembly of God, Faith Temple and First Assembly of God in Panama City, Fla. He was a successful businessman having been the District Superintendent of the Georgia Assemblies of God and Co-Founder of Brightmoor Nursing Home. He was the second youngest in the Nation to be a District Superintendent.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah H. Pruett; children and their spouses, Ernest P. Jr. and Kathryn Pruett, Melanie Pruett, Darlene and Michael Whitfield, Gary Nichols and Darlene Foster; grandchildren, Ernest P. Pruett III, Stacy Pruett, Michelle Brown, Justin Edwards; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Wade; brother and sister-in-law, William J. and Ruby Pruett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 9, at Griffin First Assembly of God with the Revs. James Richter, R.B. Newberry and Greg Marsh officiating. Entombment was in Westwood Mausoleum.
