HOSCHTON – Joe Poue Jr., 75, died Monday, May 4, 2009.
Born on April 11, 1934, in Edgefield, S.C., he was a retired textile worker and was a member of Braselton North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Williams Poue, Hoschton; daughters and son-in-law, Denise Mathis, Winder, Abigail Morris and Joann Harrison, both of Monetta, S.C., Brenda and Jessie Wiggins, Ridge Springs, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas H. and Magnolia Poue, Hoschton, Clifford and Sallie Poue, Commerce, Jandon and Brenda Poue and Roscoe and Josephine Poue, all of Winder, Jimmy Lee Poue, Johnston, S.C., Venson and Vickery Morris, Monetta, S.C., McKenzie Hill, Washington, DC; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Selene Mitchell, Aiken, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home.
Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, was in charge of arrangements.
