WINDER – Everett L. Phillips, 67, died Sunday, May 10, 2009.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Frank and Susie Garrett Phillips. He was a cutter for R&R Sewing Plant before retiring and was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Mobley Phillips, Winder; son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Tracey Phillips, Winder; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Tom Hendrix, Covington; stepdaughters, Martha Mauldin, Ashton, Ala., Sheila Bray, Auburn; stepsons, Willie Joe Bray, Flowery Branch, and Bob Bray, Gainesville; five grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; brothers, Milford Phillips, Ralph Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, all of Winder, and Sam Phillips, Jefferson; and sisters, Edith Gaillard, Nikki Shannon, both of Jefferson, and Brenda Lott, Braselton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Coley officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, May 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
