Estelle Smith

Martha Estelle Smith, 91, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008.

She was born in Walton County, the daughter of the late William Riley and Nellie Mae Cain Hayes. She was a retired seamstress from R&R Manufacturing, Barrow Manufacturing and Empire Manufacturing, and was a member of Bethlehem First Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, L. Curtis Smith; and children, Hoyt Smith, Gene Smith, L.C. Smith, Jack Smith and Steve Smith.

Survivors include a son, Joseph “Joe” Smith, Lilburn; daughters, Carolyn Harris and Barbara Smith, both of Bethlehem, Sara Haygood, Norcross, and Martha Lovins, Dacula; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 20, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Jody Hice and Mike Peavey officiating. Burial was at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
