BANKS COUNTY – Sudie Lee Kesler Blalock, 90, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at BJC Nursing Home.
She was born in Banks County on September 3, 1918, the daughter of the late George Mason and Sudie LeCree Cochran Kesler. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for a number of years. She retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Company with 12 years of service. Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Blalock.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law; Barbara and Doug Garrison, Winder, and Emi and Melvin Evans, Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law; Charles and Janalu Blalock, Carnesville, and Jerry and Susan Blalock and Ronnie and Carolyn Blalock, all of Banks County; sister, Ruth Cash, Maysville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 3, in the Damascus Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Rogers and Harold Ledford officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Rev. Gene Todd officiating.
