Emily Colvard

ATHENS – Emily Wall Colvard, 87, formerly of Statham, died Friday, May 1, 2009.

Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Jurelle Martin Wall. She was a member of the Statham United Methodist Church and had lived in Statham for 60 years. Mrs. Colvard was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Colvard Jr.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Daphene Colvard and Thomas Clonts, Lugoff, S.C., Andrea Colvard and Rod McWhirter, both of Athens; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Relle Wall Drewry, Statham.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 2, at Statham Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hayes officiating.
