Roberta Brown

WINDER – Roberta Brown, 89, died Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Born in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Langmade and Fannie Greenway Powell. She attended the New Pentecost United Methodist Church, and retired from Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, where she was a L.P. Nurse. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Brown.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Brenda Brown, Lithonia, Ed and Jean Brown, Lilburn, Wayne and Debbie Brown, Leesburg, and Grady and Kim Brown, Panama City, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 1 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Billy Pittman and Mike McLemore officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, at 2 p.m., at Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville on Tuesday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
