Kate Conner

GAINESVILLE – Kate Elizabeth Conner, 79, died Thursday, April 24, 2009, at her residence, following an extended illness.

Born on October 8, 1929, in Dawson County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Gregory and Irene Gregory. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hugh E. Conner; brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Gregory; and a granddaughter, Jill Conner Jarrard.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Patsy Conner, Gainesville, Steve and Liliana Conner, Braselton; daughters and son-in-law, Gail Conner, Lilburn, Cathy Conner and Robby Lee, Braselton; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Willard Shewbert, Gainesville; sister-in-law, Kathy Gregory, Flowery Branch; granddaughter, Gabriella Conner, Braselton; grandsons and spouse, R.C. and Cassie Lee, Suwanee, Justin Kidd, Lilburn; great-granddaughters, Sydney Jarrard and McKenna Jarrard, both of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; nieces, Whitney Gregory, Braselton, and Ashley Gregory, Flowery Branch; and several nieces and nephews from her late husband’s side of the family.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 26, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Chaplain John Reeser and the Rev. Danny Newbern officiating. Burial was in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
