DANIELSVILLE - Ethel Lee Carey Sexton, 93, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Madison County on February 27, 1916, she was the daughter of the late S.M. and Era Fitts Carey. She was a retired seamstress and member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Evangelical Methodist Church Young at Heart Club, and the Happy Traveler’s Club. Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband, Bud C. Sexton; son-in-law, Gary Tolbert; brothers, Alfred, John L., Buford and Billy Carey; sisters, Allie Dudley, Cornelia “Nita” Ginn, Hester Sartain and Gladell Sexton; and a granddaughter, Pamela Sexton.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Tolbert, Danielsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Elaine Sexton, Carnesville, Banister and Betty Sexton, Buddy and Irene Sexton and Bobby and Sue Sexton, all of Danielsville; brother, Ford Carey, Danielsville; sisters, Annie Mae Smith, Hull, Roberta Dove and Stuart Kirk, both of Danielsville; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 2 p.m., at the Evangelical Methodist Church with the Revs. Lance Snipes and Tim Peek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 27. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.
