Clara Martin

MONROE – Clara Martin, 80, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at her residence.

A Barrow County native and former Atlanta area resident, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Jessie Watson Willard and had lived in Walton County since 1992. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandy Martin.

Survivors include her husband, John A. Martin, Monroe; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Allen Gunter, Gulfport, Miss.; son, Rick Martin, daughter, Janie Martin, both of Monroe; grandchildren, Tabby and Robbie Feazel, Loganville, Chassey and Martin Valentine, Winder, and Adam Martin, Hapeville; great-grandchildren, Codie, Connor and Caden Feazel, all of Loganville, Shelby and Vivian Valentine, both of Winder, Candice and Katie Martin, Hampton; and brother, Sanford Willard, White.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. David Gilleland officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 28, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
