NICHOLSON – Leroy Raymond “Ray” Jones, 47, died Sunday, April 19, 2009.

Born in Harlem on February 4, 1962, he was the son of Bobby Jones of Plains and Mary Jones of Nicholson. He was employed as a truck driver.

Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife of 26 years, Vickie; sons, Adam and Erik Jones; sisters, Kim and Stacy; a brother, Darian; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home. Burial will be at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be given to the Humane Society of Jackson County, P.O. Box 567, Jefferson, GA 30549.

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.

I don't understand why this had to happen to such a great man, ---SHADY RAY---I think of you everyday, wishing that when I pull up to your house, you will greet me as you always have ----SHOESTRING---, but I know I will have to wait till we meet again in a much better place.
