MILLEDGEVILLE – Quinton Raymond James Sr., 80, died Saturday, April 18, 2009.
A native of Jefferson County, Ala., making his home in Milledgeville for most of his life, he was the son of the late Homer and Mary Etta Stubbs James. He was retired from YDC as food service director. Mr. James was preceded in death by his wife, Nell James; and siblings, Mary Lindgren, Homer James and Odrien James.
Survivors include sons Ray James Jr., Jefferson, and Michael James, Watkinsville; grandchildren, Joshua James and Andrew James, both of Jefferson, and Mellony James and Caleb James, both of Watkinsville; a companion, Dawn Cole, Milledgeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Buffington officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
