ATHENS – Mary Frances Sorrow, 93, died Thursday, April 16, 2009.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elsie Nelms Landers. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Sorrow was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman L. Sorrow.
Survivors include children, Faye Helth, Athens, Bobby L. Sorrow (Barbara), Bonaire, and Martha Carnes (Don), Athens; sister, Lucy Keim, Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Tommy and Cheryl and Mardee and Tommy Lee Sorrow, all of Bonaire, Tracy and John Harmon and James and Angela Helth, all of Watkinsville, Terri and Randy Short, Athens, Vicki and Dale Anderson, Arnoldsville; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 19, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Randy Short, John Harmon, Tommy Lee, Tommy Sorrow, James Helth and Dale Anderson.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
