COMER – James Polk Gholston, 93, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at his residence.
A native of Comer, he was the son of the late James and Mattie Bell Gholston. He was a member of Comer Baptist Church and was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Adams Gholston, Comer; step children, David (Karen) Alton, Anne (Steve) Hochwalt; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 2o, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral home with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Burial was private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Comer Elementary School.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
