MT. AIRY – Phil Brock, 52, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the Lanier Park Hospital in Gainesville.
Born on April 28, 1956, in Banks County, he was the son of the late Alvin and Ila Mae Stewart Brock. He was a water treatment manager at Scovill Manufacturing and was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Brock.
Survivors include a son, Randall Pete Brock, Baldwin; step son, Brandon Lathan, Baldwin; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and James Waters, Cornelia; sister-in-law, Carolyn Brock, Alto; brothers and sisters-in-law, T.L. and Frances Brock, Ranburn, Ala., Carter and Rebecca Brock, Baldwin, Buford and Bessie Brock, Toccoa, and Roy and Terry Brock, Alto.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 21, at 2 p.m., at the Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Brock and Tim House officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
