Vivian Pauline Webb Langford, 87, of Gainesville, formerly of the Pendergrass (Holly Springs Community), died Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
She was born on October 14, 1920, in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Paul and Wilda Wood Webb. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church for 67 years. She attended Toccoa Falls College. Mrs. Langford was preceded in death by her husband, W.R. “Dick” Langford; son, James Lamar Langford; and daughter, Wilda Grace Marlowe.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Frank Nichols, Pendergrass, Vikki and Michael Parham, Social Circle, Jackie and Norb Fichter, Gainesville; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Langford, Maysville, Dwight and Sharon Langford, Pendergrass; sister, Julia Savage, Maysville; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, at 11 a.m., in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kennedy Smart officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at 10:30 at the church. Pallbearers will be Tony Nichols, Jason Langford, Tyler Langford, Shane Parham, Dustin Fichter, Jimmy Langford, Jack Baerne, Ben Rose and Chad Lawson. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
