Beatrice Drake

DANIELSVILLE – Beatrice Hulsey Drake, 94, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

A native and longtime resident of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Pearlie Bridges Hulsey. She was the oldest living member of Friendship Baptist Church and was an active member for over 70 years. Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Drake; and a granddaughter, Becky Drake.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, W.G. and Betty Drake, Carlton, and Melvin and Marilyn Drake, Comer; sister, Mazelle Stowe, Toccoa; grandchildren, Randy Drake, Roger Parham and Danny Parham; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, at 3 p.m., at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
