ROYSTON – Thomas Upton Luper, 85, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Haskell, Texas, on June 1, 1923, he was the son of the late William M. “Bill” and Bessie Lee Tysinger Luper. He was an owner and operator in the real estate industry, was a member of the Royston Church of God, and a member of the Elk’s Club and the V.F.W. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Mr. Luper was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Elaine Iseman Luper.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Edee Luper, Big Pine, Calif., Mike and Cindy Luper, Royston; grandchildren, Eve Marie Wingler, Colton Luper, Tyson Wingler, Heidi Hartness, Robert Luper and David Luper; great-grandchildren, Morgan Hartness, Macy Hartness and Joel Luper; brothers, Burl Luper, Arkansas, and William Edgar Luper.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 15, at the Royston Church of God with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Franklin Springs City Cemetery.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
