CORNELIA – Susie Armour Wiley Stancil, 66, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Born in Hall County on July 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Pauline Pittman Armour. She was a retired seamstress and member of the Living Mission United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, loved ones stated. Mrs. Stancil was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Oliver.
Survivors include her husband, Michael E. Stancil, Cornelia; daughter, Nancy Wiley Wade, Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Brock, Elizabeth and Fred Couch, all of Alto, and Alma and Don Crane, Lula; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Armour, J.B. and Clara Mae Armour, and L.D. and Genell Armour, all of Alto; granddaughter, Wendy Wade; great-grandchildren, Austin Wade, Cassy Speed and Chassity Speed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 11, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Trotter and Woodrow Hix officiating. Burial was in the Living Mission United Methodist Church cemetery.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, was in charge of arrangements.
