ROYSTON – Emmett Pulliam, 76, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Born in DeKalb County on August 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Onnie Elmer and Ruth Rollins Pulliam. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pulliam was preceded in death by a son, Kim Rodney Pulliam.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Owens Pulliam, Royston; son and daughter-in-law, Ken R. and Cheryl Pulliam Loganville; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Pulliam, Carnesville; grandchildren, Angel Womack, Cory Pulliam, Joey Pulliam, Tiffany Pulliam and Thomas Pulliam; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gwendolyn Tiencken, Loganville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 12, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville with the Revs. Todd West, Cory Pulliam and Rodney Owens officiating. Graveside services were held Monday, April 13, at the Franklin Memorial Gardens-North. The Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
