ALTO – RayLeen Katherine Pearl Campbell, 64, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born on April 13, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth Jones Pearl. She grew up in Laconia, N.H., spent many years in St. Petersburg, Fla., and retired in Banks County on the family farm. She was a member of The Vine in Braselton. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Pearl.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Cleve W. Campbell, Alto; daughters, Beth Nicole Bishop, Flowery Branch, and Christine Gail “Tina” Schmid, Maysville; grandchildren, Casey Schmid, Calvin Schmid, Corey Schmid, Bailey Bishop and Briana Bishop; great-grandson, Adian Schmid; sisters, Cynthia Lee, Golden, Colo., Althea Petterson, Spartanburg, S.C., and Sylvia Rossi, Alto; half brother, Rodney Pearl, New Hampshire; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 13, at 4 p.m., at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. David Walters and Clinton Petterson officiating. A memorial service banquet will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the farm in memory of RayLeen.
RayLeen requested that her friends and family plant and garden together at their homes in memory of her and her love for planting and gardening.
