JEFFERSON – Harold Hulme, 87, of the Brockton Community, died Saturday, April 4, 2009.
Born in Elbert County, he was the son of the late James and Victoria Hulme. He was a superintendent with Harrison Poultry and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Hulme was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Redd Hulme.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kay Simmons and Steve Wilson, Matthews, N.C., Karen Hightower, Flowery Branch; son, Dwain Hulme, Hoschton; sisters, Evelyn Horton, Knoxville, Tenn., Carolyn Busby, Tennessee; brothers, J.M. Hulme and Victor Hulme, both of Elberton; grandchildren, Missy Head, Robin Bowen, Jenny (Shane) Kerns, Shiela and Craig Hightower; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m., at the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Ray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Kerns, Greg Redd, Mark Arnold and Emory Ingram Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
