ATHENS – Elma Helen Crowley, 90, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Elberton, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nobie Gunter Smith. She was a member of Johnson Drive Baptist Church and retired as a seamstress from Thomas Textile. Mrs. Crowley was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Crowley.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ben Jones, Athens; sister, Joyce Cheek, Winder; brothers, Lewis Smith and Joe Smith, both of Elberton; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 6, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home. Burial was in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Smith, Donald Smith, Chris Smith, Curtis Smith, Jeff Hamilton and Ben Jones.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
