OAKWOOD – Paul Butler, 71, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Hall County and was the son of the late Archie and Tinnie Elliott Butler. He was former owner/operator of Butler’s Electric Shop and retired from A G C Enterprises. He was of the Baptist denomination and was preceded in death by sisters, Jesse Alexandra, Jean Dorsey, Dorabell Parker, Lucy Ann Turner and Ruth Butler; brothers, Claude Butler, Pratt Butler, Bill Butler and Dean Butler. Mr. Butler was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Holland Butler, Oakwood; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Suzanne Strickland and Tony and Lycinda Butler, all of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Owens, Fayetteville, N.C.; brother, Gus Butler, Lula; sister, Lottie Turner, Alto; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Pam Holland, Lula; sister-in-law, Carolyn Clark, Gainesville; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, at 2 p.m., in Wards Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Tony Butler and Darryl Womack officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
