Hoyt Wilkins

HOSCHTON - Hoyt Wilkins, 77, died Thursday, April 2, 2009.

A native of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Ben and Parilee Montgomery Wilkins. He had resided in Jackson County for the past 20 years. Mr. Wilkins was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Appalachee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ernest, J. B., and Thoyce Wilkins, Nena Mae McDougald, Sally McDougald and Dorothy Herndon.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Berryman Wilkins, Hoschton; children and spouses, Farrell and Penny Wilkins, Renea and Tim Ferguson, all of Hoschton, David C. and Melony Wilkins, Winder; grandchildren, Tabitha Ferguson, Brooke Wilkins and Matt Ferguson, all of Hoschton, and Bailey Wilkins, Winder.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 5, at 3 p.m., at Appalachee Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Holloway and Vince Burton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 3, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, April 4, from 1 to 9 p.m.
