GAINESVILLE – Garnett Woodrow Tumlin Jr., 63, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born on April 2, 1945, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Garnett Woodrow Tumlin Sr. and Lucille Jones Tumlin. He was a self-employed painter and a member of Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Tumlin, Gainesville; son, Victor Keith Tumlin, Hull; daughters, Bridget Lopez, Norcross, Kimberly Tumlin and Cotrina Romero, both of Gainesville; grandsons, Jarrett Chitwood and Theron Heaton, both of Gainesville; step-sons, Brian Manus and Scott Manus, both of Gainesville, Chris Chitwood, Bethlehem; step-daughter, Theresa Heaton, Gainesville; 29 grandchldren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, at 12 noon, at Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 noon before the service. The family will receive friends Friday, April 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
