Lindy Adkins

GAINESVILLE – Lindy Grace Adkins, 65, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following an extended illness.

Born on November 2, 1943, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Ernest and Lindy Marie Matthews Durham. She was a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, a Christian and a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Adkins Sr., Gainesville; son, Edward L. Adkins Jr., Gainesville; sisters, Judy Diane Durham and Sandra D. Hayes, both of Gainesville; brothers, Marvin Nelson Durham and Melvin Ernest Durham, both of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Pat Adkins, Gillsville; mother-in-law, Cullie Margarette Adkins, Gainesville; and a number of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 2, at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Compton and Charles Chapman officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
