JEFFERSON – Rhonda Eubanks Avant, 60, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Athens.
Born in Baldwin County, she was the daughter of the late Nellie Snow and John Lee Eubanks. She lived in Milledgeville, where she worked as a real estate agent in both Baldwin and Putnam counties. After her marriage, she and her husband resided in Putnam County, where she was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. They relocated to Jefferson four years ago. Mrs. Avant was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, James “Jimmy” Avant; daughters and sons-in-law, Erin Nicole Wood, Albany, Tina Marie and Barry Collins, Braselton, Mary Elizabeth and Jason Justus, Demorest, Amy Sue and Starr Meeler, Bishop; grandchildren, Timothy Austin Crosby, Jacob Thomas Collins, Lizzy Bryanne Meeler, Phillip Blake Justus, Abbigail Suzanne Collins, Laura Grace Meeler, Ashley Nicole Justus; sister and brother-in-law, Tilly and Doug Corbin, Gray; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Betty Eubanks and Jack Eubanks, all of Milledgeville, Scott and Gail Eubanks, Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 12, at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel with the Rev. Rudy Camp of Winder officiating. Burial was in Eatonton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jonathan Eubanks, Alex Brown, Daniel Brown, Joe Rossee, Buck Eubanks and Eddie Eubanks.
Vining Ivy Hill Chapel, Eatonton, was in charge of arrangements.
