Evelyn Allen

MT. AIRY – Evelyn Allen, 92, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., on December 7, 1916, she was the wife of the late John William “Jack” Allen and was of the Methodist denomination. She was retired from Old Bridge Township school system as a custodian with 25 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents; sons, John C. Allen and Harold Allen; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth Allen, Manchester County, N.J., Raymond Allen, Mt. Airy, and Martin Allen, N. Port Charlotte, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, including Barbaramarie Pritchard, Toccoa, Denise Lindermann, Baldwin, Rae Marie Emans, Demorest, and John S. Allen, Land O Lakes, Fla., who were especially close to their grandmother.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
