GILLSVILLE - Mathey R. Wilson, 71, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born on June 14, 1937, in Laurinburge, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James and Cartha Skipper Brehm. She worked as a lunchroom lady for the Hall County school system and was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Wilson; and a daughter, Patricia Turlington.
Survivors include sons, John Turlington and Glenn Turlington, both of St. Pauls, N.C., and William Stratton, Lula; daughters, Dahlia Atkins, Lula, Shyla Curtin, Gillsville; brothers, Sam Brehm, Hope Mills, N.C., Johnny Brehm, Rock Fish, N.C., and Leslie Brehm, Hope Mills, N.C.; sisters, Clara Hair, Linden, N.C., Lois Terry, Parton, N.C., and Irene Bostic, Hope Mills, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 27, at Harmony Hall Baptist Church with the Rev. John Kinsey officiating. Burial was in Gillsville Baptist Church cemetery.
Ward’s Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
