Neal Gerrells

CORNELIA – Neal Gerrells, 59, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, following an extended illness.

Born in White county, on September 20, 1949, he was the son of Snow D. Cooley of Alto and the late Willie Gerrells. Mr. Gerrells was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Ann Nix and Kathy Gerrells; and stepfather, James Arthur Cooley. He was a carpenter and was of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include daughters, Kayla Gerrells and Julie Gerrells, both of Cornelia; son, Justin Martin, Cornelia; sister, Brenda Arrowood, Cornelia; brothers, Billy Wayne Gerrells, Royston, and Haskell Gerrells, Cornelia.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 2 p.m., at Whitfield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m.
