Lena Standridge

LULA – Lena O. Standridge, 95, died Sunday, March 29, 2009.

Born in Jackson County, she was a homemaker and a member of Gillsville Baptist Church. Mrs. Standridge was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Standridge; sisters, Essie Welborn and Sylvia Dorsey; brothers, Arthur Sanders, Ferd Sanders, T.J. Sanders, Frank Sanders and Henry Sanders; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Wilson and Micky Dwayne Wilson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Standridge, Gillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donald Wilson, Lula; sister, Fannie Sims, Gillsville; brother-in-law, Alfred Welborn, Gillsville; grandchildren, Tony Wilson, Lula, Jeff Standridge and Douglas Standridge, both of Gillsville; great-grandchildren Lori Jean Standridge, Mitchell Standridge, Madison Standridge, Megan Standridge and Daniel Standridge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 2 p.m., at Gillsville Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Calhoun, Bradley Elliott and Henry Webb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 7 p.m.
