WINDER - Eurilla ‘Aunt Trick’ Deaton, 89, died Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Narcy Turk Magness. A member of Union Baptist Church, she was retired from Carwood Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Deaton; brother, Jarrell Magness; and sisters, Mary Sue Sauls and Johnnie Lou Magness.

Survivors include stepson and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Paula Deaton, Winder; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. Rudy Camp officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.

I had grown up next to Eurilla James and Johnnie Lou. They were all "Good People". My daughters would always wave and ask about them. Each one is missed deeply. It has been an honor to know the entire family as a relative.

It saddens me to hear about Eurillas passing. My mom(Betty Freeman), Johnnie Lou, & Eurilla were friends and long time co-workers at Carwood. I remember many times there names bring spoken in our home. One of the things I remember was Mom always talked about what good cooks they were and that they had such big hearts! She really cared alot for both of them. Now they all are in a better place and these friends are together again..... I will make sure tonight to ask God to comfort this family during this time of loss.
