Nancy Proctor
WINDER – Nancy Salois Proctor, formerly of Lawrenceville, Aurora, Ill., and Dearborn, Mich., died Monday, March 23, 2009.
She was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Virginia Schmidt Salois. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Winder and was active in parish bible studies, an RCIA sponsor, an adult education catechist, a member of the Regnum Christi Movement and a media center volunteer at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming. She enjoyed catering for many years, and created numerous wedding cakes for newlyweds, enjoyed spending her time loving and nurturing her children and grandchildren, sharing the love of Christ with others and always enjoyed a mean game of Canasta. Mrs. Proctor was preceded in death by sons, Ronald Edward Proctor and Daniel Proctor; and a brother, Michael Salois.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Kenneth E. Proctor, Winder; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Proctor, Snellville, Kathy and Rick Swygman, Cumming, Karole Proctor and Scott Masters, N. Aurora, Ill., and Kristine and Paul Kassalen, Sugar Hill; daughter-in-law, Rhonda and Eric Regan, Alpharetta; brothers, Raymond Salois, Missouri, David Salois, Villa Park, Ill., Jack Salois, Montgomery, Ill., Arthur Salois, Aurora, Ill., Gary Salois, Villa Park, Ill., and Jerome Salois, Sandwich, Ill; sisters, Sharon Salois Vannice, Sheridian, Ill., and Sandra Salois, OSF, Joliet, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; seven nephews; three nieces; and special family friend, Kathy Merritt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthews Catholic Church with the Rev. Jaime Barona, Father Ted Johnson, Father Paul Mureau, and Father David Daley officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church, Burn the Mortgage Campaign, 25 Wilkins Rd., SW, Winder, GA 30680.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
