C.J. Barnett

PORT RICHEY, FLA. – C.J. Barnett, 26, formerly of Winder, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009.

Born in New Port Richey, Fla., he was the son of Karen Bedford of Gainesville, father and stepmother, Ron and Elaine Barnett, New Port Richey, Fla., and stepfather, Jerel Dobbins, Radford, Va. He was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, attended Winder-Barrow High School, and was involved in an auto accident in 2001. Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by grandfathers, Jack Bedford and Ronald Barnett Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Chloe Gabriella Long, Watkinsville; brother, A.J. Barnett, Winder; sisters, Melissa Barnett Simmons, Bethlehem, and Ashley Dobbins, Gainesville; grandmothers, Betty Bedford, Bradenton, Fla., and Marlene Barnett, Rochester, Mich.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 27, at 4:30 p.m., at Winder Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Greg Moore officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 25, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
