COMMERCE – John W. “Butch” Cotton, 67, of Commerce, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late P.D. and Clara Belle Odell Cotton and was a truck driver. Mr. Cotton was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Bob Cotton; and a sister, Sara Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Edmondson Cotton, Commerce; son, Jeff Cotton, Maysville; daughter, Jan Scriba, Commerce; brothers, William “Bill” Cotton, Marietta, and Charles Cotton, Nicholson; sisters, Grace Crane, Maysville, Pat Crane and Jo Wilbanks, both of Homer, Judy Wilson, Commerce; grandchildren, Christa Phagan and Hailey Scriba, both of Commerce, Blake Cotton and Nicholas Cotton, both of Maysville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, at 2 p.m., at the Homer Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Edmondson and Luke Parson officiating. Burial will be in Grove Level Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
